The frontage is judged from the street. It is used from the inside.

We survey, draw, fabricate to order and install shopfronts in aluminium or frameless glass, shutters from a plain perforated curtain to an LPS 1175 rated one, and doors in steel or on automatic operators. Afterwards we service and repair them, along with shutters and doors that other people fitted.

The work is all at the edge of a building, where the architecture meets the street and where security is either done properly or not at all. That is a narrow speciality, and we would rather be very good at it than adequate at a wider one.

A shopfront is seen by passers-by but used by whoever opens up. The drawing has to look right, but the questions that decide whether it works are practical: can the door be opened with a delivery in one hand, does the shutter lock without a struggle in the rain, does the person closing up know what to do when the motor will not start.

The details that matter most are usually hidden. Guide fixings, frame anchors, hinge bolts, the depth of a door stile. They do not appear in a brochure, and they are where cheap work saves its money.

We would rather talk someone out of a product than fit the wrong one. A café does not need a jeweller’s shutter, and a jeweller should not be sold a café’s.

Independent shops and small chains. Landlords responsible for a parade. Shopfitters who need the frontage and shutter package on a fit-out. Managing agents who need someone to ring when a tenant’s shutter fails on a Sunday.
